Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 6, 2026

Gate Militia ("the Game") is a free-to-play mobile game. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the Game collects and how it is used.

Data Collection

Gate Militia does not require you to create an account. If you are signed in to Google Play Games on your device, the Game automatically signs you into Google Play Games Services for achievements, leaderboard, and cloud save (see sections below). The Game does not collect your email address, password, or real name. The Game also uses third-party services (Google AdMob for advertising, Unity Ads as a mediated ad network, Google Play Games Services, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and Firebase Firestore) that may collect certain device and usage data as described below.

Local Storage

The Game uses your device's local storage to save your progress, including:

This data is stored only on your device. You can clear it at any time through the in-game Settings panel ("Reset Progress") or by clearing your app data. Note: leaderboard data (display name and score) is stored separately on Firebase servers -- see the Leaderboard section below.

Google Play Games Services

The Game integrates with Google Play Games Services to provide achievements, leaderboard, and cloud save. If you are signed in to Google Play Games on your device, sign-in to the Game happens automatically and silently. You can also sign in manually from the Settings panel.

When signed in, the following data is used:

The Game does not access your email, real name, contacts, or any other Google account information. Only the Play Games identity described above is used. This data is processed by Google under Google's Privacy Policy.

Cloud Save

If you are signed in to Google Play Games, the Game saves your game progress to Google's cloud using the Google Play Games Saved Games (Snapshots) API. The following data is stored in your private Google Drive application folder (accessible only to Gate Militia):

Cloud save data is tied to your Google account and is used only to restore your progress when you reinstall the Game or play on a different device. It is not shared with other players or used for any other purpose. In-app purchase verification tokens are NOT included in Cloud Save -- these remain on your device only, and Google Play independently re-surfaces any unfulfilled purchases on a new device. You can delete this data at any time via the in-game "Reset Progress" option, which also clears the cloud save.

In-App Purchases

The Game offers optional in-app purchases processed by Google Play Billing. Available products include consumable packs of premium currency (Valor) and bonus coins, and a non-consumable "Remove Ads" pack that permanently disables banner and interstitial ads on your account and grants a one-time bundle of Valor and coins. The Game itself never sees or stores your payment card details, billing address, or other personal financial information -- all payment processing is handled by Google.

When you make an in-app purchase, the following data is involved:

This information is logged anonymously to Firebase Analytics as in-app purchase events to help us understand purchase patterns and improve the Game. No personal billing information (name, address, card number, or other financial identifiers) is sent to Firebase or to us.

All in-app purchases are tied to your Google account and are non-transferable to other accounts. Items obtained through in-app purchases (Valor balance, owned cosmetic skins) are saved to your Cloud Save (see Cloud Save section above) so they follow you across devices when signed in to Google Play Games. The "Remove Ads" entitlement itself is not stored in Cloud Save -- it is restored on any device by Google Play directly (your purchase library is tied to your Google account), and can also be re-applied via the in-game "Restore Purchases" option in Settings. A small dedup flag (which records that the one-time Valor and coin bonus from the Remove Ads pack has already been granted) is included in Cloud Save to prevent the bonus from being granted more than once across devices.

Refunds are processed by Google Play through their standard refund process. Please see Google Play's refund policy for details. The Game does not offer purchases in the form of randomized rewards (loot boxes / gacha) -- every in-app purchase shows the exact items you will receive before you confirm.

Leaderboard (Firestore)

In addition to the Google Play Games leaderboard, the Game displays a ranking view powered by Firebase Firestore (Google). The following data is sent to and stored on Firebase servers:

No email address, password, or real name is required. Firebase Authentication creates a silent anonymous account -- you will not see a login screen and no credentials are stored on your device.

Your display name and score are visible to other players worldwide. Internal identifiers are used only to update your own score when you achieve a new personal best and to prevent duplicate entries.

To request deletion of your leaderboard data from Firebase, contact us at dev@optygate.com, or use the in-game "Reset Progress" option which automatically deletes your leaderboard entry.

Notifications

The Game may send local notifications to remind you about daily rewards, challenges, and other in-game events. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device and do not involve any server, push notification service, or data transmission. No personal data is collected or shared through notifications.

You can disable notifications at any time through your device's notification settings for Gate Militia.

Advertising

The Game displays banner ads, interstitial ads, and rewarded ads served by Google AdMob, Google's mobile advertising platform. Players who purchase the optional Remove Ads pack will not see banner or interstitial ads; rewarded ads remain available as an opt-in for in-game bonuses. Through Google AdMob, the following data may be collected:

This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google's Advertising Privacy & Terms. The Game does not have access to your personal data collected through ad serving.

Google AdMob may show ads sourced from mediated ad networks in order to maximize ad availability. The Game currently uses Unity Ads (provided by Unity Technologies) as a mediated ad source for banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads. When Unity Ads serves an ad, Unity Ads may collect the same categories of data listed above (Advertising ID, IP address, device and network information, and ad interaction data). Your GDPR ad-personalization choice is collected by Google's User Messaging Platform and stored on your device using the industry-standard IAB TCF v2 format. Google AdMob uses this consent state for ad requests, and mediated ad networks such as Unity Ads receive consent signals where supported and configured. For details on how Unity handles this data, see Unity's Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.

Ad Personalization & Your Choices

If you are in a region covered by GDPR (European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland), the Game presents an in-app consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) on first launch. Your choice determines whether the ads you see are personalized (based on your activity) or non-personalized (generic). You can re-open this choice at any time from the in-game Settings panel under "Privacy options".

You can also change your ad preferences at any time on Android: Settings > Privacy > Ads > "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization". Opting out does not reduce the number of ads shown; it means the ads will be less relevant to you.

Analytics

The Game uses Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) to understand how the game is played and improve the experience. Firebase Analytics may collect:

This data is anonymous and does not include your name, email, or other personal identifiers. Analytics data collection respects your GDPR consent choice (see Ad Personalization above). If you decline consent, analytics data collection is limited accordingly.

For more information, see Firebase Privacy Information.

Crash Reporting

The Game uses Firebase Crashlytics to detect and fix bugs. Crashlytics automatically collects:

Crash reports do not contain your name, email, or personal information. This data is used solely to identify and fix technical issues.

Third-Party Services

The Game uses the following third-party services. All are provided by Google with the exception of Unity Ads, which is provided by Unity Technologies:

The Google services above are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Unity Ads is governed by Unity's privacy policy.

European Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, or Switzerland, the Game asks for your ad-personalization consent on first launch via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) and only serves personalized ads if you opt in. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

To exercise these rights regarding data collected through Google AdMob, please refer to Google's Advertising Privacy & Terms. For data stored locally on your device, use the in-game "Reset Progress" option.

California Users (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion. Gate Militia does not sell personal information. Ad-related data is handled by Google under Google's Privacy Policy.

Children's Privacy

The Game is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Data Deletion

You can delete all data stored by Gate Militia at any time:

If you need further assistance with data deletion, contact us at dev@optygate.com.

Data Retention

Game progress data is stored locally on your device until you clear it. Data collected by Google services (Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics) is retained according to Google's data retention policies. Firebase Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
